Most salesman are honest enough not to pull this scam, but this is the real world and you either have dishonest salesman or stupid ones that don’t know any better. Here are just three reasons NOT to buy an extra bulb when you first buy a LCD, LCOS, or DLP rear Projection bulb.
1) They generally run $50.00 to $100.00 MORE then getting the bulb from the manufacturer.
2) ALL bulbs have a shelf life, so having a bulb sitting in your closet for a few years is not going to help it. Bulbs are not like wine!
3) Some company’s like Mitsubishi guarantee their bulb for a year, so if you bought a bulb when you first get your TV and your bulb went out in the first year, you just wasted you’re money!
